Pace of Me 1:1 Coaching

Our mission at Pace of Me has always been at the forefront of all that we do – to help runners of all abilities pursue their potential through holistic, science-backed coaching that goes beyond the miles. No matter what your goals are, where your fitness is or how much experience you have, we would love to work with you and be a part of your running journey!

We work with athletes at every stage of their running lives, helping them achieve and discover all sorts of amazing things with their running. Whether it’s one mile or 100 miles or anything in between, for completion or for competition – there is no goal too small, too wild, or too big in our book! 

Our coaches are trained and certified and bring years of experience, knowledge and passion for the science of this sport into our coaching services. Each coach is also actively pursuing her own goals and dreams. At the core of what we do is 1:1 Coaching, but we are evolving and growing and have made additions to our offerings to best meet athletes where they are in their individual journeys. In 2025, we began offering Monthly Strength Training Subscriptions that are separate from a run coaching plan. More recently, in 2026 we began offering Custom Training Plans.

How do we describe our 1:1 Coaching?

Pace of Me 1:1 Coaching goes beyond just an individual training plan. Each coach does more than design a plan for you, and works to get to know you, crafting a thoughtful plan that fits your goals and life. What blooms from 1:1 coaching is a working relationship that grows throughout the seasons of your life through strong communication and adjustments as needed. Got a vacation next month and wondering how to fit your runs in? We’ll chat options that will help you feel prepared or relieved on your travels. Got a big hiking adventure in the mix? We shift runs around as hiking is still effort! Sore and feeling run down from your work week? We work with you to help make running not add to the stress and fatigue, but support you as you navigate obstacles. In addition to writing and adjusting training plans, your coach is there for you, providing support and feedback on workouts as well as guidance on strength training, nutrition, fueling, and more. 

Running apps and AI plans cannot talk to you when you’re stressed, sick, or tired and they won’t recognize when changes are needed in the moment or even ahead of time. But our coaches can, and will bring in both science and heart to make running enjoyable and worth sticking with.

What distances do you offer 1:1 coaching for?

Every distance! In our community, we have athletes chasing goals from the track to ultramarathons, some beginning their running journey entirely and some with years of experience. 1:1 coaching allows every athlete to get individualized support catered to your unique journey and goals, with training paces based on your current fitness as we work to develop you athletically towards achieving what’s possible and meaningful for you.

How is working with a Pace of Me Coach 1:1 unique?

You don’t just get a training plan and guidance along the way, you get unlimited schedule adjustments, updates and modifications as needed. We don’t have a tiered system with varying levels of access to us. This unlimited support, encouragement, enthusiasm (and real talk) helps you feel like you are never alone in this! Our 1:1 athletes receive access to an exclusive strength training plan (2x/weekly sets of strength workouts, mobility and core work, as well as warmup exercises) because we know how crucial it is as runners to keep consistent strength programming in your routine. Sessions are designed to make you a stronger, more durable runner, not take away from your running. Created by Coach Steph, you’ll get videos, demos, sets and reps so you know exactly what to do. 

Here’s the part we love. When you join Pace of Me Coaching, you get access to both a private Facebook group and Slack workspace exclusively for Pace of Me athletes – an awesome and diverse community of inspiring and wonderful people! We have athletes running and racing around the world, and this wealth of shared experiences makes it such a special team of athletes supporting each other. Exclusive to our athletes is access to an in-depth and growing resource library of recorded calls with experts in their fields, professional runners and authors of our favorite books about running!

We kick-off 1:1 coaching with athletes with a Zoom or call to get to know you!

What is the process like to join?

We’d love to chat with you! If you would like to sign up for private coaching, or learn more about our services and pricing, click on the “JOIN TEAM PACE OF ME” button on our website here and complete the inquiry form. One of our coaches will contact you right away to schedule an initial kick-off call via phone or Zoom to discuss your history, lifestyle and goals as well as to answer any questions you have about how we can help you. We’ll get to know one another and take it from there! We believe that the true success of an athlete and coach is founded on a strong relationship, trust and open communication. As such, we will be in touch on an ongoing basis via text, phone and email. Your customized run schedule will be published in the VDOT02 app on a weekly or bi-weekly basis, with updates as needed.

We utilize the VDOT02 platform to program workouts for our athletes and communicate throughout the week. 

Do I need to commit to a certain amount of time?

We require a minimum commitment of 3 months at the onset of coaching. Running progress takes time and consistency! We have been working with many of our athletes for several years, and are so excited to begin this journey with you!
