At Pace of Me we believe that strength training is an essential part of your run training, and strength training that’s expertly designed to support your running not only makes you a more powerful athlete but also helps build resilience and resistance to injury! When you sign up for 1:1 Run Coaching with us, in-house strength training is part of what is included. 

As we continue to evolve and enhance our services, we have made additions to our offerings to best meet athletes where they are in their individual journeys. We offer Monthly Strength Training Subscriptions that are separate from our 1:1 Run Coaching and our Custom Training Plans. Our Strength Training Monthly Subscriptions are programmed and led by the absolutely amazing Coach Steph!

There are so many benefits to keeping strength work consistent in your routine! Running on your own but want a strength program catered towards runners? This is great for you! For some of our athletes, taking a break from 1:1 coaching after a race but continuing with our strength programming helps them stay motivated in the off-season from running. We also offer these as an add-on to our Custom Training Plans.

What is the Pace of Me Strength Training like?

Pace of Me strength training is a progressive overload program, gradually increasing the physical demands placed on your body over time to build strength and muscle.
Coach Steph designs two weekly workouts, repeating the same sets of exercises for three consecutive weeks while gradually increasing intensity and volume with more reps, sets, weights, etc. The fourth week is a de-load week to allow you to absorb the training and recover before beginning the next phase and a new set of workouts. Progressive overloading is a great way to build strength by causing your muscles to adapt to changes over time. This programming is available to you as a monthly subscription through the Superset App. Below is the home page when you log into our Superset page. 

Our Strength Programming follows a three week progressive overload, followed by one week of de-load.

What is included in the Strength Monthly Subscriptions?

  • Two weekly strength workouts designed specifically for runners and programmed by Coach Steph in the SuperSet app
  • Each four week block of training consists of 2-3 superset circuits, including a warm up and plyometrics
  • Videos and instructions for every exercise
  • The ability to track your progress and record your weights as well as number of reps completed
  • Additional programming available in the app to support your running, including a pre-run warm up routine, two weekly mobility routines and two weekly core routines
  • Access to Coach Steph via the SuperSet app whenever you have questions or need help with modifications or exercise substitutions

Each workout is paired with a video demonstration, helping you see proper form and technique.

It is important to us that you are able to do these workouts from home or at the gym, so we try to limit the amount of equipment needed! Ideally you will have access to 1-2 sets of dumbbells, 1-2 kettlebells, a medicine ball, resistance bands, a step or bench and gliding discs/sliders (paper plates or socks will work, too!). 

Empowering our athletes with access to quality strength work is important to us as coaches, which is why we created our programming. Making these available on a monthly subscription basis has allowed us to help even more people work towards their goals and discover what they’re capable of!
